Submitted for the Future of Ontario Place Competition, the Future Food City is a conceptual look at how we can revitalize the Toronto Waterfront and Ontario Place. I was asked to join an amazing team of aspiring architects to provide the site analysis, master plan, and circulation diagrams.
Our competition entry transforms Ontario Place into a community garden, park, and nature center where people can come and get a hands-on education and entertainment. The proposal renovates and restores the existing landscape and buildings into a nature center and urban farm. This nature center and farm are organized into three main categories: growing, cooking, and learning + skills sharing. Our hope is to turn Ontario Place into a space where food, ideas, resources, and energy are created, disassembled, repaired, recycled, processed, stored, sold, communicated, and fed into cycles that turn both towards the lake and towards the city.
